The head is detailed with two inset green cabochon eyes, possibly made of glass. The long, tapering body rests on four integrated stubby legs, while the tail extends into a slender, curved blade designed for opening correspondence. The metal surfaces exhibit a naturally aged patina. A genuine Walter Bosse due to the inset green eyes which are a definitive hallmark feature specific to Walter Bosse mid century design. Herta Baller operated the prominent Viennese art foundryand workshop that partnered with designer Walter Bosse during the 1940s/1950s.
