A polychrome glazed ceramic garden stool or plant stand modelled in the form of a standing elephant with its trunk raised. The figure is decorated in an Orientalist style, featuring elaborate caparisons and a harness finished with relief-moulded scrollwork and geometric patterns. These details are picked out in a palette of cobalt blue, iron red, ochre yellow, and forest green enamels against a white ground. The elephant supports a flat, circular pedestal platform with a central star-shaped motif surrounded by scrolled borders. No factory marks or model numbers are visible on the exterior surfaces.
