A hand-carved and polychrome painted wooden feline figurine, produced in the style of Mexican Oaxacan Alebrijes. The figurine is characterized by a stylized rectangular block-shaped body and four tapered legs. The body and legs are decorated with black and white chevron-patterned stripes. The more naturalistically carved head is painted in shades of pink and red with fine black linear detailing. The feline features green eyes with red borders and a gold-painted band around the neck. The tapered, striped tail is a separate component inserted into the rear of the body. There are no maker’s marks, signatures, or labels visible on the underside or exterior of the item.
