14th Century Mamluk Qur’an Folio – Chapter 7, Verses 113–121
Thought to be a framed 14th-century Mamluk Qur’an folio, attributable to Egypt or Syria, executed in black naskh script on paper and incorporating refined yet measured illumination consistent with Mamluk Qur’anic manuscripts. Verse endings are marked by gold rosettes with blue and gold dotting, with red punctuation, black vocalisation, and gold and blue marginal medallions providing visual structure to the text. The folio survives from a Qur’an that experienced partial deterioration over time; intact manuscripts or bifolios have not been cut to produce this page. The text comprises Surah al-A‘raf (The Heights), verses 113–121. The folio is double sided with verses on each side.
