A vintage miniature knight fireside companion set, typically associated with British manufacturing from the mid-20th century. The piece is cast from iron and finished with a distinctive polychrome iridescent glaze, exhibiting a range of metallic colours including gold, purple, and blue. The figure represents a knight in full plate armour mounted on a circular base with a textured, pebbled surface. The back of the knight is cast with a hollowed interior containing a set of three miniature fireplace tools: a brush, a shovel, and a pair of tongs. The helmet includes a hinged top section that opens to a small compartment, designed to function as a match holder. This type of novelty metalware was popular during the late Art Deco through to the early post-war period. No manufacturer markings or patent numbers are visible on the piece.
