A contemporary studio pottery lidded bowl by Christine Abbott, dated 2003. The piece is of circular form, comprising a deep bowl and a slightly domed lid. The exterior and interior are finished in a smooth, off-white cream glaze. The design is accented with a vibrant yellow band around the lower base of the bowl and matching yellow borders to the rims of both the bowl and the lid. The lid is surmounted by a central circular knob handle decorated with a distinctive honeycomb or cellular glaze effect in shades of bright yellow and orange. The underside of the bowl features the hand-incised signature Christine Abbott Studio Pottery along with the date 2003.
