A trio of ceramic nursery tableware items comprising a plate, a bowl, and a two-handled mug, manufactured in fine earthenware by Johnson Brothers for the tea merchant Ringtons. The set features transfer-printed illustrations based on Raymond Briggs’ classic book and film, The Snowman. The decorative scenes depict the characters James and the Snowman in various winter settings, accompanied by penguins. The interior of the bowl and the surface of the plate contain central character illustrations, while the exterior of the mug and the box are decorated with complementary motifs. The presentation box bears the printed marks The Snowman, johnson brothers, and Exclusively designed for RINGTONS by johnson brothers, alongside the Ringtons family business crest.
