A flared trumpet-shaped earthenware jug. The body is decorated with high-moulded relief depicting stylised roses, smaller blossoms, and scrolling foliage. The vessel is finished in a monochromatic cream glaze which pools to highlight the relief work. A single ornate scroll handle is attached to the side, and the piece terminates on a stepped circular foot. The base of the foot bears an incised numeric mark 371 and a printed black mark reading Wade in serif characters above ENGLAND in sans-serif capitals.
