A 1920s Art Deco reverse painting on glass by Marygold titled Idyllic Night. The work depicts a Pierrot in a harlequin costume dancing with a ballerina in a pale green and yellow tutu against a nocturnal background. A small faun figure is positioned to the left clinging to a slender tree, surrounded by swirling golden leaves. The piece is presented in a period gilt-wood and composition frame with a beaded inner border. Signed MAR… in light-coloured script to the lower right, the remainder of the name being illegible.
