A vintage commercial advertising letterpress printing block, comprising a relief metal plate mounted onto a solid hardwood block with metal pins. The plate is designed for promotional use by the Lincoln-based butchery firm J.C. Curtis and Sons. The mirrored relief surface features multiple panels of typography and script, including a section reading Special PORK PIE Breakfast in script, a central panel reading J.C. CURTIS & SONS, and a right-hand section detailing addresses at 4 RANSON PLACE and 19 JAMES ST alongside the phrase HIGHEST QUALITY. The reverse of the block features a partial printed paper label showing a restrike of the advertisement with legible text including Also at 19 JAMES ST and J.C. URTIS SONS. Below the label are handwritten pencil marks in cursive script which read J.C. CURTIS and Gutteridge.
