An oval brooch featuring a hand-carved shell cameo depicting a classical male profile in white relief against a dark brown ground. The cameo is set within a silver-tone openwork frame with a scrolled border pavé-set with multifaceted marcasite stones. The reverse features a hinged pin and a C-clasp, with an attached safety chain and secondary pin. Indistinct marks are present on the pin stem and the reverse frame edge but are not legible as a name or metal standard.
