A pair of late 19th-century earthenware teapots finished in a dark manganese brown Rockingham-style glaze. The globular bodies are decorated with hand-applied polychrome sprigged relief motifs in the form of flowers and foliage, painted in green, red, blue, and white enamels. Each teapot features a white crinkle-cut collar around the neck and the base of the spout, and the lids are surmounted by characteristic miniature teapot finials. Both pieces feature white relief-moulded banners with impressed lettering. The larger teapot bears a banner reading ‘A PRESENT FROM A FRIEND 1886’. The smaller teapot bears a banner reading ‘ALBERT WOODHEAD DRAUGHTON STREET BRADFORD’. No other factory marks or signatures are visible.
