This is an antique mechanical pigeon racing timing clock manufactured by Alfred Plasschaert of Belgium. The instrument is housed in a finger-jointed oak case with a natural finish. The internal mechanism consists of a complex brass and steel clockwork movement featuring a large central rotating metal plate. The exterior of the case includes a side-mounted chrome or nickel-plated steel handle and a latch mechanism. Two circular apertures are present: one for the clock face and another viewing window for the recording mechanism. A small metal sliding hatch is located on the top surface, intended for the insertion of race rings. The clock face is inscribed with the name Alfred Plasschaert. The serial number 76285 is stamped on the wooden case, visible through a small aperture on the lid, and is also present on the internal brass chassis alongside the mark DEPOSE.
