A decorative Art Nouveau style table lamp featuring a figural base and a floral glass shade. The base is constructed from a cast material, possibly spelter or resin, finished with a dark brown bronzed patina. It is modelled as a seated classical female figure engaged in reading a book. From behind the figure, a curved metal arm rises to support a single light fitting. The lamp is fitted with a tulip-form frosted glass shade with ruffled petal edges and a soft pinkish-cream tint. Four decorative cast metal leaves are mounted around the socket assembly. The lamp is equipped with a modern white electrical cord and a standard UK three-pin plug.
