This four-tier folding cake stand is crafted from mahogany and dates to the Edwardian period, circa 1900-1910. The design is in the Monoplane style, which allows the circular tiers to fold flat within the frame for compact storage. The stand features two vertical uprights joined by a decoratively shaped and scalloped top handle, with the side supports featuring scrolled fretwork motifs. Each of the four circular tiers has a bevelled edge and is connected by a central metal rod and individual metal stays. The stand is supported by four out-swept cabriole legs that terminate in pad feet.
Height: approximately 90cm.
